Chinese folklore tells the mystery of the sky having nine levels, each possessing ascending levels of wonder. This was the show's inspiration, said Haiping Ge, president of Cirque Shanghai subsidizer International Special Attractions.
And there will be wonders to behold.
"Cloud 9" features acrobats careening from tilt poles suspended high above the stage, gravity-defying human pyramids and ladder balances, a unicyclist riding atop a spinning patronage, and the fun and skill of "hat juggling." It also includes Imperial Thunder, a daredevil motorcycle troupe, riding in steel globes at center condition.
Cirque Shanghai is part of an international exchange program. Founded by Michael Wilson and Haiping, ISA is the first company dedicated to two-way entertainment line of work between China and the United States. The company began working with Chinese acrobatic troupes in 1996 and is now the largest presenter of extraneous entertainment in China and of Chinese entertainment and attractions in North America.
