Dais Analytic Corporation Chosen and Joins China Clean Energy Trade Mission

, A nanotechnology materials coterie focused on developing and selling applications for energy efficient heating and cooling/refrigeration products, commercial and industrial bear scrutiny cleaning (desalination) processes, and energy storage (ultracapacitor) for alternative energy and transportation uses, today announced its quote and participation in the U.S. Department of Commerce's "Clean Energy Business Development" Trade Mission to China, being hosted by Mercantilism Secretary Gary Locke, which runs May 16 through May 22, 2010.

"America's economic future will depend on how well it competes to intersect the rising global demand for clean energy and clean water in the 21st century; the business leaders joining me on this m mission understand the urgency of that global competition," said Secretary Locke in his opening remarks in Hong Kong.

The buying mission is promoting U.S. exports of efficient clean water and energy products and services. With just twenty four firms selected to participate from a august list of applicants, it is making stops in Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Beijing exploring opportunities to fulfil China's growing demand for clean energy products. In addition to Dais, other member firms of the Delegation comprehend executives from Boeing Co., DuPont Co., Duke Energy Corp. and Peabody Energy Corp. The goal of the Trade is to accelerate the creation and growth of sustainable green jobs in the United States.

Nanotechnology breast cancer drug under scanner

Abraxane, the nanotechnology breast cancer drug, developed by Abraxis BioScience, Inc, is widely advertised in the United States under a co-endorsement agreement between Abraxis and AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP. According to abraxanethe agreement signed with the US based company, Biocon has rights to sell Abraxane in India, Pakistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and some South Asian and Persian Gulf countries. In 2005, the U.S. FDA approved the use of Abraxane in Injectable Suspension for breast cancer treatment taking into consideration its side effects, post the not so desirable effects of chemotherapy.

However, when Natco Pharma’s Albupax , the cancer remedy did not pass the vital safety trials, the Drug controller general of India (DGCI), that is India’s drug regulator has instructed a fresh rounds of tests to be carried on Abraxane, the medicine’s original version.

The new rounds of tests are on way as a safety measure subsequent to Natco’s drug that showed high endotoxin levels that has a potential to cause massive disorder in cancer inflicted.

The series of tests being carried out on Abraxane include tests on analogous parameters of endotoxin and chloroform levels that were conducted on Natco’s Albupax Drug. Albupax has reported elevated levels of endotoxin, considered higher than normal, with the outcome of the chloroform tests expected soon. Due to this outcome, Natco has revoked the drug from the market, but has repeatedly stated that its product clears all quality standards.
