Gini Law, co-director of the upcoming "School House Rock Live!" musical production, thinks her trade on's educational sayings, memorable characters and family-friendly actions of actors will bring several valuable tips on nursery school, life and a whole lot of fun to the spotlight's center later this month.
"This is going to be good for the students performing and for the community," she said of the construction, which will be staged by the University of Arkansas at Fort Smith's Academy of the Arts group at 7 p.m. May 26-28 and at 2 p.m. May 29 at UAFS' Breedlove Auditorium.
Law and co-captain Tara Raney are leading the show, which is based on the Emmy Award-winning 1970s cartoon series that helped show countless children grammar, history, math, science and even politics through well-crafted songs. The academy's adaptation of "School House Rock" is part of its ShowTime Series.
The play's busy rehearsal schedule has been a learning experience for the more than 40 students active, Law said.
